The Chicago Protesters, civil resistance and the Democrats

The above title is a play on the title from The Wall Street Journal article below. The WSJ article explains what is happening in Chicago, why, and the connection to the Democrat political machine. There are two other things that are important to understand considering the activities of street rioters and why we have seen them on an increasing level over the past 25 years. Everyone realizes these protests/riots are not organic, they are organized, funded and logistically controlled, but by who and why. There exists a loosely organized worldwide web of riot professionals.  These two videos explain the practical strategy for the use of 'street muscle' as a weapon of a political minority.
  • One, is the power to de-stablize using a small minority of vocal protestors, the accepted term for that being 'racial rent-a-riots. Think 2020 George Floyd riots. Think the pro-hamas riots on college campuses and now at the DNC.
  • Two, is 'why civil resistance works'. How civil resistance efforts work to de-stabilize governments. Why 'street muscle' works starts at the 33:35 mark of this video and runs to the 36:00 mark. Be Prepared For The Worst If The Dems Lose

The party’s anti-Israel wing in the streets is having a policy impact. The press is reporting that the anti-Israel protests at the Chicago convention are underwhelming, but that doesn’t capture what’s really going on. The protests we’ve watched are designed to get the attention of the public and Democrats inside the hall, and on that point they’re succeeding. On Tuesday night hundreds descended on the Israeli consulate with chants of “Intifada, Intifada, long live the Intifada” and signs blaming the Democrats in Chicago for “genocide” for supporting Israel against Hamas. “Democrats drop bombs and faux promises,” one sign said. “Wanted for International Terrorism: Joseph ‘Genocide Joe’ Robinette Biden,” said another. Protesters also went after the Chicago Police Department, which was keeping order at the event. “CPD, KKK, IOF, they’re all the same,” activists shouted at the hundreds of officers in riot gear. IOF is protesters’ acronym for what they call the “Israeli Occupation Forces,” as opposed to the real Israel Defense Forces. On Monday a protester near the convention wore a F— ISRAEL T-shirt featuring a swastika. Jewish counter protesters set up at the other end of the block at the consulate, waving U.S. and Israeli flags and singing the Israeli national anthem and God Bless America. “Same old story, same old news, they just want to kill the Jews,” they chanted. When anti-Israel protesters advanced on them, officers lined up eight rows deep and around the perimeter to prevent clashes from escalating. Chicago police deserve credit for managing the protests professionally and with a show of overwhelming force. Local media reported Wednesday that dozens of protesters had been arrested, but the scene on Madison Street never veered out of control. Perhaps Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is finding some value in broken-windows policing after all. Politicians tempted to appease this crowd might look at Mayor Johnson as a cautionary tale. Before the convention he cozied up to radicals by intervening on their behalf to get protest sound equipment and telling the leftwing Mother Jones website that the war in Israel is “not only egregious, it is genocidal.” Behind Enemy Lines, which organized Tuesday’s protest, repaid the favor by calling Mr. Johnson a “dangerous Zionist wolf in progressive sheep’s clothing.” More From The Wall Street Journal (subscription required):
