Following the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in a mere nine weeks, Trump’s team compiled and released a list of dozens of times Democrats and their allies in the media used extreme rhetoric about Trump, including calling Trump a “threat to Democracy” and urging for the former president to be “eliminated.”
NBC’s Lester Holt, for example, blamed Trump and his VP pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), for the attempted assassination by citing their supposed “increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail.”
In an opinion column published by the Cincinnati Enquirer on Monday — mere hours after the second attack on Trump’s life — it’s argued that Trump “brings a lot of this stuff on himself.”
