Supreme target for violence

Threats and arrest regarding violence targeting the Supreme Court have spiked since the overturn of Roe v Wade. This week an Alaska man was arrested for threatening 6 Supreme Court Justices.

Earlier this year a man was sentenced to 14 months in prison for threatening Chief Justice John Roberts via a phone call in July 2023. A man was arrested in 2022 for plotting to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home in Maryland in response to the leak of a draft opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Sen. Durbin made a point of taking a public position for Dems & Reps to denounce any such political violence. This is an interesting position considering his position on the 2020 George Floyd riots resulting looting, vandalism and violence. He offered excuses instead of demanding the rioters stop. It is also interesting to note that when left wing violence is in the news, left wing politicians like Sen Durbin don’t deny their constituents activities, they instead include their Rep opposition so as to make sure the public will view this specific activity as more of a balanced and general stream of political violence, thus directing attention away from the Democrat left. They handle it differently when there is a question about the motivations in a political violence event by using the ambiguity to point fingers at the right. And, if it is a right-wing instigator, they will put this in the media ad nauseum without that same balanced approach.

Dems have also incited violence using protests and riots as the forum for such violence speech. Sen. Schumer famously stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and threatened the Justices by name regarding deliberations on abortion, saying “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,”… I’m talking to you Gorsuch…Kavanaugh… Is that the proper way for Senate Leader to speak in public? Does it encourage this kind of threats of violence? Of course it does. But the left and the media only want to exaggerate Trump’s rhetoric and charge him with inciting riots (and insurrection), yet the Trump protestors carry American Flags while the left wing mobs usually carry ‘revolution ‘ flags.
