Trump, Harris agree to Sept. 10 debate on ABC, network says

Former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have agreed to a Sept. 10 debate on ABC, the network said Thursday. The announcement followed a Trump news conference in Palm Beach, Fla., during which he proposed three debates with Harris. Trump had previously agreed to debate President Joe Biden on Sept. 10 but pulled out after Biden withdrew from the Democratic ticket. During the news conference, Trump questioned Harris’s intelligence, pushed back repeatedly on the idea that Harris is generating as much or more enthusiasm than him and compared the crowd size at one of his events to that drawn by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. for his “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington, D.C., in 1963.
