5 Memphis Officers Charged With Murder in Killing of a Black Man

The officers, who are all also Black, face second-degree murder charges in the death of Tyre Nichols after a traffic stop earlier this month. Officials are bracing for the release of video from the stop, which the Memphis police chief called “heinous, reckless and inhumane.”
Mr. Nichols had a 4-year-old son and a tattoo of his mother’s name on his arm, his family said.
