House conservatives successfully derailed two bills that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attempted to fast-track through the lower chamber of the U.S. Congress on Tuesday evening, a victory the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus told Breitbart News was ‘stunning.’
The controversial pieces of legislation have been stopped cold. At least for now.
The first bill was called the LGBTQ Business Equal Credit Enforcement and Investment Act, which would’ve made it easier for LGBTQ-owned businesses to get loans.
Republicans called this flat-out favoritism and moved strongly against it. And it’s likely that most Conservative citizens agreed.
The other bill was the Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act, which would have kicked off “government-funded access to abortion drugs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).”
