Incredible! Rick Perry Silences CNN Critics About His Efforts to Secure the Border

Governor Rick Perry of Texas has been trying for years to get the Federal Government to secure the border (see here and here), but President Obama has failed to act. As the largest border state, Texas is hurt more by the current immigration crisis than any other state.

So when Perry became fed up with the inaction and took matters into his own hands by deploying the Texas national guard to make it secure… lots of pro-Amnesty liberals raised their eyebrows.

Watch as he defends his role as Governor of Texas, where he considers his biggest goal to be the safety of his citizens:

When you think about the idea that some of them are from countries that have substantial terrorist ties…whether it’s Pakistan or Afghanistan or Syria, we are at historic record highs with individuals being apprehended from those countries. We say it’s time to secure the border.

He also dismisses the accusation from Candy Crowley that this is just posturing for the 2016 election. This “hasn’t got anything to do with anything other than those numbers of individuals who are coming across the border,” Gov. Perry insisted.

Perry also noted how shameful it is that a government which has grown far beyond the limited scope of the constitution isn’t accomplishing a real enumerated power: securing the border and enforcing the laws.
