The single most important — and telling — contest of the 2014 election will happen not next November but rather on May 20 when Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell squares off against wealthy businessman Matt Bevin in Kentucky’s Republican primary, according to non-partisan political handicapper Stu Rothenberg.

I think McConnell needs to be concerned,” said Rothenberg in an interview with Post TV’s “In Play”. He added that the race “really will say a lot about the direction of the Republican party.
