The TPPF Take: Canceling student loans would be a bailout for the elites.
“Student loan forgiveness ‘solves’ a problem that has already been solved. Existing income driven repayment programs ensure that student loan payments are affordable, and they provide that assurance for the student’s entire lifetime,” says TPPF’s Andrew Gillen, who recently paid his loans off. “If someone is struggling with unaffordable student loan debt, the solution is simple – enroll in an income driven repayment program. There is no need to forgive their loans.”
