Untrustworthy! Gallup Poll Shows Most Americans Turn on Big Tech

Americans turned against Big Tech, according to a shocking Gallup poll. The shift from 2019 to 2021 was drastic with Republicans and independents rejecting “large technology companies.”
More Americans viewed Big Tech negatively by a wide margin. Gallup reported: “A 45% plurality of U.S. adults have a very or somewhat negative view of these firms, defined in the survey as ‘technology companies, such as Amazon, Facebook and Google.’
Public opinion among Republicans had the greatest shift. In 2019, 43 percent of Republicans viewed Big Tech favorably. However, favorability with Republicans dropped to 20 percent by 2021. Americans who identified as independents also saw a great drop. Independents viewed Big Tech favorably by 43 percent in 2019 but by only 33 percent in 2021.
