How reliable are government declarations that mask mandates prevent the spread of COVID-19? Well, recent experiences with researchers from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention are enough to cause reasonable doubt, according to the director of Heritage’s Center for Data Analysis, Norbert Michel, and Heritage visiting fellow Doug Badger. “Unfortunately, throughout the pandemic, scientific facts have meant little. While many facts were unknown when the disease first took hold in the United States, a great deal of the evidence was quite clear by May,” Michel and Badger write in their latest commentary.
