Could you imagine a future where the very roads you drive on are generating power from the sun? Well it might be here.
The roads, sidewalks and cycle paths of the future might well be able to generate electricity from the power of the sun as well as provide surfaces for us to travel around on. At least that’s what the developers of the following solar roads, sidewalks and cycle paths hope.
Since the ground space is already in use, this strategy makes complete sense – as long as it’s safe! Although mostly-experimental at present, it is not out of the question that they may, one day, replace traditional asphalt for paving our way.
