CNN White House reporter Betsy Klein used Twitter to share a touching letter from President Donald Trump and his wife, written to a “dear family friend” who “is battling brain cancer.”

What could have been a unifying concept quickly turned into various criticisms of the president, his marriage and even first lady Melania Trump’s signature.
