And They Say It’s Not Political?

RUSH: Florida school shooting survivors to head to Tallahassee, Florida, state capital, to press lawmakers on gun control. But it’s not political, you see. It isn’t political, but they’re going up there to the state capital. It isn’t political. The students, They’re not political. They’re the ones that were shot at. That means they’re the only ones we should listen to. And they’re on their way to the state capital to talk to lawmen, lawmakers, but it isn’t political. You see, this is exactly how it happens.

So the kids have this massive rally going up to Tallahassee today, state capital of Florida, and on March 24th a massive march on Washington, where George Clooney has donated half a million dollars. But it’s not political, you see.

RUSH: Folks, get mad at me if you want, but I’m just gonna tell you what’s happening at this gun rally in Tallahassee. There are now T-shirts, and there are signs. I’m gonna tell you this is becoming the Wellstone memorial on steroids. Do you know who they’ve dragged into this thing? The victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando. There are T-shirts with every slogan you have ever seen at a Democrat Party rally.

I saw a student, is it a T-shirt on a sign? “Violence occurs greater in minority communities.” Oh, that was a student talking. “Violence disproportionately affects minority communities.” That was one of the students speaking at the rally. I’m telling you, folks, it’s undeniable and you can get mad at me all you want.

I’m gonna be misquoted, I’m gonna be mischaracterized and misrepresented, but I’m telling you, the Democrat Party has taken the thing over, if they’re not the people sponsoring it, in fact.

And it’s the students here from the high school, how can they resist it? Their spirit, their heart here, it’s genuine. They’re the victims. They were shot at. But the vehicle and the opportunity to do this is being made possible by money coming from donors and contributors to the Democrat Party.

You see anti-NRA signs, and you see, “Stop the guns, ban the guns.” Every slogan you can imagine. “Hope I don’t get shot today” is a sign that you see in the background here.

[Like] the Wellstone memorial … The relevance is that the Democrats will hijack anything — a funeral, a memorial, a disaster to advance their political agenda. And they’re doing it now. They’re doing it in the aftermath of the school shooting in Florida. They are hijacking this for the purposes of advancing their political agenda, which is highlighted by an attack on the NRA and getting rid of guns, Second Amendment. You know the drill.

RUSH: Okay. So I’m just informed here that the communists over at PMSNBC are plastering my picture all over their infested video broadcast with a commentary that I am blaming the protest kids for operating right out of Democrat Party playbook.

I’m blaming the kids for nothing. I am saying the Democrat Party and the American activist community organized Alinsky left has taken over the student protest. [Praise for the Parkland Studentson Friday’s show.]

I’m not saying the kids are operating out of the Democrat [playbook] — the kids think they’re being apolitical here, folks. The kids, the students, they think they’re operating above politics. They’re saying, “We want politicians of both parties to set their differences aside.” And then they start espousing the Democrat Party agenda ’cause that’s who’s organizing their activities.

The whole point is that the protests that are happening here today are being portrayed as not political. “The only sick people engaging in politics are the people commenting on it.” It’s a time-honored trick. You take some innocent victims and whatever they say and you proclaim that to be above politics, while all it is is politics. But it’s inoculated. It’s protected. It’s insured. That’s exactly how they do it.

I’m not saying the kids, the students are operating out of the Democrat Party playbook. I’m saying their event has been hijacked. And I don’t even think that that is arguable.

they are in Tallahassee protesting at the Florida legislator. On March 24th they’re gonna go to Washington, where they are going to protest the United States government over this.

When I observe that the students appear to be advocating, marketing, pushing for the Democrat Party agenda, I am not accusing the students of doing anything.

What has happened here is that the American left and the Democrat Party pounced and seized on this event immediately for the purposes of using the event to advance their agenda. The kids are still in shock. None of them would want to go through this again. Nobody will want to see a gun again after this. They are and remain in full grief mode.
