Reforming public sector union compensation in the states can be one of the most daunting challenges for a state government. Wisconsin’s labor reform Act 10, for example, was met with day-long protests by thousands of government employees. This year, Iowa took on the challenge which was greatly needed, with one of the biggest gaps of salary and benefits compared to private sector employees. In this episode, Ed is joined by AFP Iowa State Director Drew Klein to discuss AFP’s efforts to pass regulations to protect taxpayers and balance the budget.
