What to Know: Though it’s not a scientific survey, U-Haul says more Americans moved themselves to Texas than anywhere else.

“From being ranked number 39 back in 2015 to holding the number one ‘Growth State’ spot for three years straight since, Texas has managed to account for over 50 percent of U-Haul traffic,” KVUE reports. “According to data released by U-Haul, ‘Growth States’ are calculated by the net-gain of one-way U-Haul trips during a calendar year. The migration trend of those using U-Hauls is composed of more than two million one-way U-Haul users sharing transactions that occurred annually.”

The TPPF Take: People are coming to Texas for economic opportunity and the freedom to prosper.

“I spent most of my adult life in California and served in the California Assembly,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “But in 2011, I brought my family to Texas. We came here for the freedom – and the greater opportunity to prosper.”
