Gun Control
The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America secures the right of citizens to bear arms. Specifically it states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. The left wants to eliminate guns from every law abiding citizen because guns are dangerous. Unfortunately, this leaves guns only to criminals. Not a very smart approach to eliminating a constitutional right. A right that has nothing to do with the role of guns in 18th century life. The Founders knew that throughout history, government overreach, as Britain did to their colonies and without the ability to defend themselves, is unrestricted. Give a look at public opinion in Gallup Polls on guns. Give a look at the way law abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves at Armed Citizen. Give a look at gun violence statistics.

This is a political test, period

The uproar created by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's order suspending the right to carry firearms in New Mexico was a knee jerk reaction. To come out in direct affront to the US Constitution Second Amendment was just so shocking that the ensuing discussion clouded what is really happening. The gun control left has been stalled at every turn in eliminating guns. They sue firearms users, they sue firearm companies, they lobby banks and the financial community not to fund gun manufacturers, and they continue to eat away at the right to bear arms with increasing regulations. Yet gun purchases are still up and all the media support for gun control has not changed the minds of the American people. Something dramatic needed to be done. Why not have a prominent Democrat Governor step up with a bold move, just to see what the legal community's reaction will be? Enter New Mexico's governor. Today the first reaction, Judge temporarily blocks New Mexico governor's order suspending right to carry firearms in public. In an interview today, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham told "GMA3" she has the "courage" to take a stand. There it is, 'courage to take a stand'. We will see where the legal arguments proceed from here and what, if any, weakness appears for a future assault on the second amendment. More From ABCNews:
