Blatant and horrendous lies.......

....by the media! I mean really.  Just read the statements the media calls lies. It is a laughable analysis. It was laughable the same way from 2015-2020. What they use is the headline to grab attention, knowing that probably only 10% will read the analysis. The message of the headline is that Trump is a serial liar, therefore, he is a serial liar. Even though when you read the supposed analysis, it does not show the fabrication the headlines claim. The lies are spread by the media and the fact checkers, designed solely for supporting a political narrative. For example: The Washington Post: "Here’s a guide to 19 claims he [Trump] made on Tuesday night, in the order in which he made them."

  1. “When the virus hit our shores, I took decisive action and saved lives and the U.S. economy.” Trump did not take decisive action. For weeks, he played down the threat of a pandemic, telling reporters in February 2020 that in April the virus would “miraculously” go away.
    • Fact check is False. In January, he [Trump} immediately closed flights from China and took media criticism for doing so.  He continued to take steps and inform the public on the developments around the virus. Any non-panicked statements he provides were designed not to create panic among the people.  That's what a leader does.  Was the country opening up and the virus better understood by April, yes. Except in blue cities who remained panic ridden for another year and a half while states like Florida and Texas boomed. More people died under Biden's panic in 2021 than did under Trump in 2020.
  2. Importantly, after decades of rising energy costs, the United States had finally attained the impossible dream of American energy independence, which soon would have turned into energy dominance." This is false. Under Trump, the United States continued to import millions of barrels of oil per day, with 48 percent coming from Canada and 11 percent from Persian Gulf countries. Trump appears to be basing this statement on the fact the United States exported more crude and refined products than it imported. That’s still the case. In 2021, according to the Energy Information Administration, the United States imported about 8.47 million barrels per day of petroleum, compared to exports of 8.63 million barrels per day. But the country still relies on other countries for its energy needs. Refiners on the Gulf Coast, for instance, have been optimized for Venezuelan crude, which has a high sulfur content. When the Trump administration put sanctions on Venezuelan petroleum, refiners started importing Russian petroleum products because they are roughly similar to U.S. petroleum products.
    • Incomplete. We did then, do now and will continue to exercise energy trade with other countries. However, we were in a position to stop that trade with foreign adversaries if we chose to. and maintain America's need for energy.  Today, we not only can not do that, but the Biden administration wants us not to have that independence with energy.  We have almost completely decimated our emergency reserves and are begging for oil from the middle east and Venezuela. To spin Trump's accurate claim above is to lie to the American people for the sole purpose of supporting political narratives, not truth.
  3. “Because the border was so tight, drugs were coming into our country at the lowest level in many, many years.” The flow of drugs over the border was not at its lowest level under Trump. Under Biden, according to Customs and Border Protection statistics, overall drug seizures have dropped
    • Gaslighting at its best.  This is so obviously false as to be a joke. Notice they say 'seizures' at the border. Drugs now are getting through unchecked and un-seized, illegally at enormous levels.  His statement is true.
This is just the first three, I could go on, but you get the point. The headlines and their explanations are lies! When we depend on the media to clarify, we get blatant and horrendous lies. More From The Washington Post (subscription required):
