Musk is crazy like a fox

Is there any doubt that the political left wants Elon Musk to fail with Twitter?
  • Speaking of corporations, here is the 'woke corporate' response to Twitter:
This Post report was sourced by the partisan Media Matters of America. That doesn't make the report false, but it makes it's message extremely questionable given Media Matters record. So, is there any doubt that the political left wants Elon Musk to fail with Twitter? Of course, not. Why don't we look at more empirical evidence about Twitter and Musk's actions thus far. Here are three items: 1. Twitter user changes: Of course, this is from Elon Musk himself, so not an unbiased source. But, given the choice, Musk seems more credible. 2. The Washington Post reports on follower data: These two reports give a more solid view of Twitter performance thus far. 3. Now lets look at another analysis about Tech company trends from Thompson Clark:
  • There is the big secret in Silicon Valley: Many, if not all, of the biggest tech companies can generate the same revenue with a significantly smaller headcount.
  • First up to reduce costs was Meta. It announced a layoff of over 10,000 people, or 13% of its workforce. The stock popped over 5% on the news.
  • Next was Twitter…
  • Since taking the company private, Elon Musk has gutted the employee base. And guess what? The site is still fully functioning. Sure, there are likely plenty of hiccups on the back end that you and I don’t see. But big picture, the site is still functioning—even after laying off over 50% of the workforce.
  • Amazon followed right behind. It has announced a 10,000-person reduction starting in 2023.
  • Google will be the next.
This analysis makes you wonder about the Robert Reich tweet above and his current knowledge of economic trends in the tech industry. If this is true, Musk continues to be a visionary, or, at a minimum, seems 'crazy like a fox'.
