Gender
Gender dysphoria is a condition where a person experiences discomfort or distress because there's a mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity. It's sometimes known as gender incongruence. Biological sex is assigned at birth, depending on the appearance of the genitals. Political debate on this is not only divisive in our culture but tears at the basis of our human condition.

LGBTQ & the Catholic Church

The relationship between the Catholic Church and the LGBTQ community is often misunderstood and regularly stated in error. Catholics, and for that matter all Christians, hate gay people. That is not true. The opposite is true.

Catholic Social Teaching and the Catechism, an almost 1,000 page book, explains this in clear detail, yet many Catholics, Christians and certainly the secular world, get it all wrong. The subtleties of Catholic teaching on the subject are totally missed or ignored, yet critically important to understanding.

This homily is as good an explanation on the subject as you can find. You owe it to yourself to take 16 minutes and listen.
