'Biden's numbers with young voters dipped lower than any Democratic president in decades'

Politico, a left leaning news source, gives a pretty fair appraisal of the impact of Biden losing support of young people ahead of the 2022 mid-terms. Biden's numbers with young voters took a staggering dive at the end of 2021, dipping lower than any Democratic president in decades.

Some Biden media defenders, like WaPo, will want you to believe he never had the young vote. Don't believe it. Here is a report from RealClearPolitics in 2020: Biden, who beats Trump in all four surveys, is the leader among young voters in all of them, usually by blowout margins. CNN has Biden winning the under-35 vote over Donald Trump, 64% to 33%.

Democratic senators had two charts waiting at their chairs when they arrived at a caucus luncheon in February. They showed youth participation in national elections since the 1980s, with two impossible-to-miss spikes: 2018 and 2020, when huge turnout among 18- to 30-year-olds propelled Democrats into power in Washington.

Pollster John Della Volpe ... told the senators, and they’re not policy purists, snowflakes or socialists, either. Perhaps the most important point Della Volpe could make for that audience, though, is that young voters are not locked up for Democrats.
