Statues & Monuments
A simmering debate exploded after the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, 2017. The left is demanding the removal of all Civil War related statues and monuments as images if racism. The cries have even begun to reach back to the founding fathers, the Jefferson Memorial for example, as Jefferson was a slave owner and fathered children with one of his slaves. The right is vehemently opposed to the destruction of history and culture. Prior to this, attacks on religious monuments had been the focus, with many religious monuments of war heroes being vandalized and or forced down over separation of church and state. Again, the right is vehemently opposed to this attack on American culture.

Abolition and the American Founding

The Wall Street Journal article below is a very balanced piece on our current condition, slavery, and the American Founding. It shows the cultural divide that exist ed then and now. Some, like Brian Stelter on CNN, want us to believe there is no cultural divide, no historic divide, no divide on the righteousness of our founding. But, there is, in reality, a huge cultural divide and it has existed for decades, building in power to this moment.

This divide and cultural disagreement was not created by Donald Trump. His election was the first statement of wait leftists, you are going too far. That shocked the left. Up to that point they had run opposition free and set the debate language, in a misleading and in some cases inaccurate manner, for the rest of the country to accept & submit.

This article by Jason Willick, presents an accurate, detailed and balanced view of our condition, what's at stake and why the left is winning.

from The Wall Street Journal,

Today’s leftists denounce the Declaration and Constitution as pro-slavery. It’s not a new argument, political scientist C. Bradley Thompson says.
