The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday held its first hearing looking into the issues of vote fraud and other irregularities surrounding the 2020 election. The committee’s chairman, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., defended the hearing against Democratic detractors.

“The fact that our last two presidential elections have not been accepted as legitimate, by large percentages of the American public is a serious problem that threatens our republic,” Johnson said in the clip that was deleted, according to a screenshot taken by Twitchy.
At the same time, ABC News left standing a clip of Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., the ranking member on the panel, complaining that concerns about the integrity of our elections “weakens our democracy.” “Amplifying these obviously false narratives about fraud or irregularities corrodes public trust; it threatens national security; and it weakens our democracy and our standing around the world,” Peters said.
