These hearings should never happen again. They are political theater and they are not entertaining. Just the opposite, they are sad, disappointing and embarrassing. This is an opportunity for political statements, not questions and answers to find out the truth. No one listens or even allows the person testifying to answer a question, assuming one is accidentally asked. These hearings are to attack people testifying from the opposition party or people who are not saying what one party wants them to say. This is designed to give the impression that if you are attacking the person you must have reason to believe they are not telling the truth. Yet, in the absence of evidence, and in most cases, in complete defiance of the written evidence, the Senators attack their perceived political enemies. The raw hatred that is spewed should end the political careers of everyone involved. Certainly Macie Hirono. Unfortunately, it won't.
