Hillary's email scandal
The revelation in March 2015 that Mrs. Clinton used a private email account with messages stored on a private server, rather than an official State Department address, set off a political furor that threatened to overshadow her entry into the presidential race. At the time, Mrs. Clinton promised the emails would be released quickly.

Surprise, Surprise, IG Report provides info both sides can spin

What a surprise, the long awaited IG Report on the FBI's handling of the Clinton email probe reveals little in the way of new news or gang buster accusations. This enables the various news media and political talking heads to spin the report (MSNBC, FoxNews) to their own desire.

Comey has already come out with an Op-ed in the NY Times, titled; This Report Says I Was Wrong. But That’s Good for the F.B.I. and a tweet:

"The president was briefed on the I.G. Report earlier today," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a press briefing Thursday. "And it reaffirmed the president's suspicions about [former FBI Director James] Comey's conduct and the political bias among some of the members of the FBI."

A few highlights:

5 FBI employees sent messages that raised concerns of bias, report says.

"[Trump's] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!" FBI lawyer, Lisa Page, wrote to FBI agent Peter Strzok. "No. No he won't. We'll stop it," ... "The damage caused by [Strzok and Page's] actions extends far beyond the scope of the [Clinton email] investigation and goes to the heart of the FBI's reputation for neutral fact finding and political independence," IG Michael Horowitz said in the report.

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch was also criticized in the report, particularly for two decisions she made during the course of the Clinton email investigation. First, she directed the FBI to call the probe a "matter" rather than a criminal investigation. Second, she met with Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, when he climbed aboard her plane on an Arizona tarmac in June 2016. Comey has said the appearance of a cozy relationship between Lynch and the Clintons motivated his decision to independently announce the investigation was closed.

[IG report] found ... that not only were “numerous FBI employees...in frequent contact with reporters” when they shouldn’t have been, but they “improperly receiv[ed] benefits from reporters,” including food, golf trips, and tickets to sporting events.
