Today marks 22 years since the horrific terrorist attack carried out against our nation on September 11, 2001 by radical Islamists. 

We saw the face of true evil on that fateful day. It will forever live in infamy. However, just as Americans took care of each other in the aftermath of the attack, there is always hope. Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (NIV) As we observe Patriot Day 2023, an annual day of somber reflection, let us remember all of the precious lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Let us honor the heroes who bravely rushed toward the chaos and danger to save others. And, let us pray for all of the loved ones of those killed whose lives were forever changed.
