Democrats
In 2020, Democrat Joe Biden & Kamala Harris captured the Presidency and Vice Presidency in a hotly debated result fraught with voter fraud allegations. The Democrats won back the Senate (50-50) with 2 victories in runoff elections in Georgia in January. With both Houses of Congress and the Presidency, the Democrat agenda is ready to be unleashed on the populace beginning inauguration day, January 20, 2021. During the previous decade, the Democrat Party lost the House in 2010, Senate in the 2014 mid-term elections and President Obama's effectiveness ratings continued to decline. In 2016 they lost the Presidency to Republican Donald Trump. Democrat candidate, Hillary Clinton, failed to retain the White House with a similar coalition of young people, women and minority voters that swept Barack Obama into office in 2008. Yet the coalition did not show up in the force needed. The Democrat candidate won the popular vote in reliably blue states (California, Washington, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, etc) as a result of overwhelming majorities in major coastal metropolitan areas like LA, SF, Seattle, NYC, Boston, Washington DC). They failed miserably in the heartland and in other blue states in the rust belt (Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin) and lost a total of 30 states giving a landslide electoral college victory to the Republican candidate. The Democrats have lost over 1,000 seats at the national, state and local levels nationwide in the past 7 years. In 2018 Democrats took back the House over negative reactions to Donald Trump & the Russian Investigation hovering over the political landscape.

Another TDS 'political narrative'

from The Gray Area:
11/15/22:
A new Trump 'political narrative' is picking up steam after the mid-term elections. "Trump is so bad, that even his supporters are starting to drop him". This narrative, which is an extension of the 6 year Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) in the media, is now getting a lot of play while people on both sides of the aisle try to explain why the 'red wave' didn't materialize. Now, not only left wing media, Democrats and RINOs, but Trump supporters are jumping on the bandwagon, or should I say 'off the Trump' bandwagon. Certainly DeSantis' fabulous showing in Florida put some wind behind those sales. But, also, those tossing the never-ending attacks on the former President can't wait for any additional fuel to throw on their 'Trump" fire. As a result, 'negative Trump' commentary dominates legacy media. The media can't help themselves. This is not legitimate analysis, but TDS, with a new spin. Some of his supporters who lost their mid-term election races do not believe Trump was the problem. The never-Trumpers in the establishment had a lot to do with it. Many, also, believe that Mr. Trump has shown the way to a new Republican majority, even if he may no longer be the party’s best standard-bearer. But, Trump's popularity among Republicans is falling. He is still at 70% approval, DeSantis is at 10%, in pre-2024 preference polls.  But that is down from over 90%. The 2020 election concerns, the Jan. 6th riot & commission, his own mouth, and now his mid-term failure, all contribute to the constant media TDS and becomes a mountain for him to climb. Would it be better if he steps aside? Many believe so. But, you hate to left the media win. Also, the media is already going after DeSantis. Without Trump, that would just mean they have more guns with which to attack DeSantis. Just hoping for the drama of Donald Trump to leave the daily media will not make America a better place, national elections any less contentious, nor the Republican Party any more successful. It appears that Donald Trump can't win another presidential election. But, neither can the Republican Party, unless it brings his voters into the fold. If Donald Trump does what everyone expects him to do Tuesday night—never a sure bet with the 45th president—he will announce another run for the White House. Thus the spotlight moves back on him, not that it ever really left. Thus, the highlighting of the "Trump is so bad, that even his supporters are starting to drop him" narrative, will be just the prelude to two more years of TDS, on steroids.
