There is a lot to be said for having differences of opinion on every team. But, there is no room for people who lie and purposely undermine the mission of the team.

Senior U.S. Diplomat and special envoy for Syria James Jeffrey repeatedly lied to the Trump administration about how many troops were stationed in Syria over the last four years. “We were always playing shell games to not make clear to our leadership how many troops we had there,” Jeffrey said in an interview.

Jeffrey, who previously served as deputy national security adviser under George W. Bush, signed a 2016 “NeverTrump” letter, along with dozens of other national security and foreign policy officials who worked under Bush, pledging he would never vote for the then-Republican presidential nominee.

Jeffrey shows no remorse for signing the letter, saying, “I know what I did in 2016. I do not disagree with that.”
