Dem Protestors
The 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America grants freedom of worship, speech & press, the right to petition the government & to assemble peaceably. Specifically with regard to "peaceably assemble" it states: Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, ... or the right of the people to peaceable assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Incredibly important part of the Bill of Rights and our freedom. But, a key word in this amendment is one that we have let get away from us in the past 50 years is "peaceably". George Washington had to put down the "Whiskey Rebellion" in the first 2 years of his first term which served to secure the issue of a "peaceable" redress of grievances. For us today, relaxing of this principle "peaceful assembly" started with union strikes and activism in the 1930s and came to be part of our culture during the extensive protests of the 1960s. We need to re-establish this principle in our culture. Anytime you are part of a protest you should expect that if it turns from peaceful to disrupting commerce, disturbing the peace or violence, you and your associates may be arrested and that it may not be a pleasant experience. To let the protests we see today continue like OWS and the union gangs in Wisconsin is to invite insurrection. And, then to have them be celebrated by everyone from media and entertainment personalities, to politicians, to the President, we might as well send an engraved invitation to the revolution. Recognizing the groups of "professional protestors" that exist today around the world it is even more important to make sure that our citizens have the right to be heard without the noise and violence of the professional "agitator" who is out to further their own agenda, not the best interest of America. The same can be said about the political partisanship described under 2012/2014 Elections which serves to enable such behavior.

"believe nothing you hear & half of what you see"

The old adage, purportedly from Edgar Allen Poe, goes something like this: "the accounts ... are very contradictory, you can believe nothing that you hear in this country, and only one half of what you see". It applies to just about every subject in 2020. And, the protesting / rioting around the country right now is a good example. The 'gaslighting' of the events in Portland and other cities just needs to stop. Not even the breadth and control of the mainstream media can hide what is going on. Everyone sees it before their eyes. Even local officials, Democrats official, are calling these 'violent riots.' For NY Congressman Jerry Nadler to call this a myth is an example of the effort going into the political messaging for 2020. Here are a few bits of 'riot' evidence from The Federalist:
  • In Chicago, over 54 people were shot in the last three days with at least 2 recorded deaths.
  • In Seattle, rioters grew rowdier and began attacking buildings on Saturday. According to the Seattle Police Department, rioters set multiple buildings on fire and broke windows at the King County Youth Service Center/Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center campus. They also attacked local businesses including a Starbucks attached to an apartment complex and the Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct. There was at least one major explosion that caused damage to the precinct building.

  • In Aurora, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, authorities are investigating a shooting that injured two after a Jeep drove through a crowd of protestors. There were no injuries from the Jeep, which the driver claims he drove through the area because “he was scared and trying to get away” from attacks on his vehicle by rioters
  • In Austin, a similar incident unraveled when a group of protestors surrounded a car at a protest Saturday night. This time, however, the driver was the one who fatally shot protestor Garret Foster. At the time, Foster was wielding an AK-47 rifle.
  • In Portland, gunfire, arson, stabbings, and other violence followed rioters as they made their way across the city. By Sunday, rioters had breached and surrounded the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse causing the incident to be declared an official riot.
  • Oregon’s U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams called for the “violent extremists” to cease their rioting and reinforced the idea of a federal presence in the area on Saturday.  “Until that happens, we’re going to do what we need to do to protect federal property,” Williams said. “When the violence ends, then there won’t be a need for the presence of nightly federal officers… It seems quite simple.”
