Islam
Islam is a respected worldwide religion articulated by the Qur'an, a text considered by its adherents to be the verbatim word of God and by the teachings of Muhammad, considered by them to be the last prophet of God. An adherent of Islam is called a Muslim. With over 1.5 billion followers Islam is the second-largest and one of the fastest-growing religions in the world. In the 21st century, thanks to threats and violence and a vocal minority of Islamic extremists, Islam has gotten a bad name. Some, specifically Osama Bin Laden and his followers, have formally declared war (jihad) on the US and its allies. Recognizing the danger presented by Islamic extremists, there is a natural and necessary need to be alert, defend against and eventually stop Islamic extremist violence. To accomplish this natural and necessary defense while recognizing the individual and religious rights of law abiding Muslims is very difficult. Islamaphobia naturally appears. However, minimizing the threat from Islamic extremists and dangerously limiting our defense against Islamic extremists as most leftists espouse in a foolish attempt to eliminate Islamaphobia is not the answer. We must be aggressive in our response to this obvious violent threat and active war while recognizing law abiding Muslim Americans. As responsible Muslim Americans have accurately stated, until we are able to mute the Islamic extremists it is the primary responsibility of law abiding Muslims to clearly identify themselves by their actions and support to stop the extremists and their publicly distancing themselves from those of their faith who are destroying it for the rest. In a February 27, 2012 TIME Magazine interview, Kareem Abdul Jabbar made this point when he said, "After 9/11, all of a sudden you have this suspicious spotlight on you just because you’re Muslim. It was a radical change, and it really bothered me. People understand that the KKK, even though they take a Christian identity, are not practicing what Jesus was all about. It’s the same thing with the radical Islamic people. They’re about hatred and trying to impose their will on people. I guess that was put in our laps, as American Muslims, to explain that." If you still don't believe the magnitude of this threat, read the articles and thoughts included below. There is a deep moral rot in our nation.

The terrifying trend of antisemitism and anti-West hatred is growing. Nowhere is this more prevalent or more pervasive than on social media and in our nation's schools and college campuses. Columbia University, one of America’s most prestigious Ivy League schools, is now a hotbed of antisemitism and violence. A Jewish professor was recently prohibited from entering campus—his place of work—while Jewish students received alarming directives to "return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved." Jews are being blatantly targeted, harassed, and their safety threatened. Pro-Hamas students across the country shout, “We are Hamas." They call for “Intifada” and chant, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free,” advocating for Israel to be wiped off the map. Not long ago, these students shouted, “Defund the police!” and “No justice, no peace!” while claiming that America is institutionally racist and needs to be decolonized. This isn't sudden—it's the product of a decades-long strategy. Leftist ideologies, once on the fringe, now dominate classrooms. Our children are taught to admire Marxism, racial division, and moral relativism and hate the values and traditions foundational to the West. Students are taught that violence is permitted—even encouraged—so long as they target the right people. In that vein, Israel—the Middle East's democratic beacon and U.S. ally—is painted as the antagonist, the oppressor. Terrorists are portrayed as freedom fighters, and infanticide, rape, and mass murder are excused if done in the name of liberation. In the aftermath of the worst act of antisemitic terrorism since the Holocaust, American college students demand to "dismantle Zionism." A Columbia professor called the Hamas massacre of Israeli and American citizens "awesome." At Cornell, a professor announced his “exhilaration” over the murder of innocent Israeli civilians. More than 30 student groups at Harvard issued a statement blaming Israel for the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, all while the Israeli victims' bodies were still warm. The list of examples goes on and on. WE MUST FIGHT EVIL! Change is brewing. University donors, from Harvard to Penn, are waking up, pulling back support, and closing their wallets. But action, not just reaction, is vital. "The Jews introduced to humanity the God in which most of the world believes; brought into existence the Bible that is the basis of the New Testament and the Quran; gave the Christian world its Messiah; and gave much of the world its morality through the Torah, the Prophets, and the Ten Commandments. Those who hate that moral code hate the Jews." Dennis Prager, Founder of PragerU "You condemned Al Qaeda when they attacked the USA. You condemned ISIS when they attacked France. You condemned the Muslim Brotherhood when they attacked Egypt. Will you condemn Hamas for attacking Israel? There’s no justification for terrorism anywhere." Marissa Streit, CEO of PragerU, CEO of PragerU "To my Palestinian brothers and sisters, and to anyone who supports the Palestinian people, I implore you: Please do not let Hamas brainwash you into thinking it has 'achieved' anything on our behalf." Bassem Eid, Palestinian Human Rights Activist
