2/24/20:

The two countries share concerns about terrorism, immigration and the rise of China as a superpower.

President Trump kicked off two days in India with a huge campaign-style rally in the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a reprise of a raucous event the pair staged in the U.S. last year, and a visit to the Taj Mahal with the first lady.

A few minutes later, speaking with Mr. Modi from a makeshift stage in a massive, 110,000-seat stadium still under construction, Mr. Trump praised India as a growing economic power and said the nation would “soon be home to the biggest middle class anywhere in the world.”

He asked the crowd to view his visit to the country as proof of the “great admiration and friendship” between him and Mr. Modi. Mention of the Indian prime minister elicited cheers and chants from the crowd.
