As Johnson presses Britain’s EU exit, a U.S.-U.K. deal is crucial.
U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Wednesday he’ll suspend Parliament for several weeks, a move that increases the odds of a no-deal exit from the European Union. While Britain nears a messy Brexit—and America grapples with the economic fallout of President Trump ’s trade wars—the importance for both countries of a new bilateral trade deal looms ever larger.
