This is a horrible news story. In any year, much less an contentious election year, some crazies have to concoct a plan to kidnap a sitting governor. How stupid and horrific!

The media and Democrats, of course, immediately find a way to blame President Trump for the actions of these crazies. They insert one of the favorite anti-Trump narratives, these are 'white-supremacists'. Interesting how when a Bernie supporter actually shot Republican Congressmen practicing for a baseball game, this same media played down the political origin and passions of the left wing shooter.

But, what is missed in the discussion of this terrible plot, is why the Wolverine Watchmen said they wanted to do it.

Michigan is widely known for its active 'militia' groups. Militia are strong government watchdogs who defy all efforts by any government to limit individual rights, take property and exert government power. So it is not surprising that given the draconian COVID guideline established and viciously enforced in Michigan by Governor Whitmer, many citizens and the Michigan militia groups would be critical and defiant.

Earlier peaceful protests at the state Capitol were met with dishonest reaction by the media and the Michigan government, making matters worse.

This is a legitimate grievance. It has absolutely nothing to do with 'white supremacy', race or Donald Trump.

Racial equality is also a legitimate grievance. Even when Marxist, anti-American, anti-family, BLM protestors turned away from peaceful protests and into riots, no one would denounce them. Apparently, according to the media, extremism only resides on the right.

The looting, disturbing the peace, destruction of property, violence, burning and murder is not an acceptable set of actions to address racial grievances. Plotting to kidnap a Governor is not an acceptable way to address government overreach grievances.

These are both revolutionary actions and should be shut down hard. Negotiation and open dialogue will eliminate such grievances. And, it that doesn't work --- vote!
