Terms Limits Anyone?

We here a lot about gerrymandering this year from the Democrats. The reason is elections have consequences. When Republicans began winning thousands of elections since 2010, they were in a position to redraw precinct boundaries. The same applies when Democrats win, though they only complain and want to change the rules when Republicans win. Don't think the same applies for Democrats? Look at these numbers presented by former Ambassador Nikki Haley: D+26… D+29… D+32… This isn't bingo. These numbers show just how lopsided the districts that belong to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Queens, NY), Ilhan Omar (Minneapolis, MN) and Rashida Tlaib (Detroit, MI) are --- three of the most extreme liberals in the U.S. House of Representatives.

These are some of the most lopsided congressional districts in America -- which means this trio could be in Congress for decades, just like … Nancy Pelosi (D+37 – 32 years in office) Maxine Waters (D+29 – 28 years in office) Adam Schiff (D+23 – 18 years in office) Our Founders never intended to have lifetime elected officials. Term limits would help, but they wouldn't change such precinct designs. And, look at what is sent to represent those partisan constituents; Waters, Schiff, Tlaib, Omar, AOC and Pelosi (from a collapsing SF)! The last time a Republican won Tlaib's district was 1947! Any question why Detroit has declined so dramatically since then? Republican designed precincts an be found with similar partisan designs. Elections have consequences. This is one of them. They don't look good at any point in time. But over time, elections control the outcome.
