6/20/15:

Wow! Dr Martin Luther King Jr would be proud.

Families in Charleston, getting an opportunity from the court on Friday to speak directly to Dylann Roof, accused of killing members of their families and friends in the Charleston church on Wednesday night, decided to forgive the suspect.

I forgive you. My family forgives you.”

“We would like you to take this opportunity to repent.”

We welcomed you into our bible study …may God have mercy on you.”

“You hurt me … you hurt a lot of people. God forgive you. I forgive you.”

“Hate won’t win!”

“How do we eradicate the hate?” We search, but we search together.”

This event certainly brings to mind other horrible acts of mass violence, but the situation in America in NOT the same as it was 52 years ago, as President Obama believes.

These families, like Dr Martin Luther King Jr. 50 years ago, have the answers to our questions today. They have a strength I wouldn’t possess in a similar situation. They certainly have a better perspective than Pres Obama who likes to blame America at every opportunity.

That strength is called character!

Wow. Impressive. Rare. Progressive. Conservative. Appropriate.
