Premiums for insurance on health exchanges run by states and the federal government will post a modest median increase of 4 percent, according to a study.

Forbes reports the analysis, released by the McKinsey Center for U.S. Health System Reform, found that premiums will go up for 65 percent of existing policies under the Affordable Care Act, but the median increase will be 4 percent.

The study also found that competition and choice are set to increase in 2015. Based on exchange participation data from the 41 states releasing those numbers, the number of health insurers increased by 26 percent from last year. In 19 states with complete filings, the number of insurance products grew 66 percent.
