From intelligence sources, the media has learned that the chief suspect in American journalist James Foley’s beheading is 23-year-old British-born rapper Abdel Majed Abdel Bary.

Bary only joined ISIS in 2013. But before making such a horrible decision, Bary was an up-and-coming artist in the United Kingdom’s hip hop scene whose music has featured on BBC Radio 1. Bary’s friends told The Daily Mail that he “grew increasingly frustrated with the British authorities over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Before he left his family’s house in Maida Vale west London, he lived with his mother and five siblings in what was described as a “£1 million home.” And he developed a more violent side after hanging out with supporters of Preacher Anjem Choudary, who was imprisoned for three-and-a-half years for trying to incite terrorism. In addition, terrorism runs in his family, as his father is in America where he awaits a trial on terrorism charges in connection with former head of Al Qaeda Osama Bin Laden and the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa.

In his most recent video clip, posted to YouTube in March this year, he talked of his anger at his father’s 1998 arrest.

“Give me the pride and the honor like my father, I swear the day they came and took my dad, I could have killed a cop or two,” he rapped. “Imagine then I was only six, picture what I’d do now with a loaded stick. Like boom bang fine, I’m wishing you were dead, violate my brothers and I’m filling you with lead.”
