No one can put a price on human life – unless you work at Planned Parenthood. Then the number is coldly calculated: $313.29.

In a new video released this morning, former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson revealed the secret budget her supervisor showed her in 2010, which she said required her facility to double the number of abortions it performed.

“This was bothersome to me as I truly believed that our goal was to reduce the number of abortions…after all, that’s what we always said to the media,” Johnson said in an accompanying e-mail sent out today by her outreach to abortion industry workers, And Then There Were None. “When I voiced my concerns to my supervisor, she laughed and said, ‘But Abby, abortion is how we make our money.’”

The video shows a budget item with the number 1,135. “You know what that is?” the female narrator asks. “That’s their abortion quota.”

Each abortion was set at a minimum cost of $313.29.

The issue roared to life last month, when a worker sent Johnson a picture of a special commendation Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains gave to its office in Aurora, Colorado, for “exceeding abortion visits first half of fiscal year 2012 compared to first half of fiscal year 2013.”

“Ever since I left Planned Parenthood, I have been talking about the abortion quotas that are established inside abortion facilities,” Johnson said. The new video, she said, proves her contention.

“Since releasing the photo a couple weeks ago, we have heard from many abortion supporters who have expressed their disgust of Planned Parenthood and their unsavory practices,” Johnson said. The video refers abortion employees to its website, AbortionWorker.com.

In a blog post after the photo went public, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains President and CEO Vicki Cowart denied the agency had a formal requirement which it called an “abortion quota.”

But she admitted, “Yes, we absolutely do celebrate our progress in ensuring that more people have access to the full range of reproductive health care, including abortion. And we always will.”

“Our mission,” she wrote, is to see its services engaged by “as many people as possible. We aim to expand access to all of our services, and we commend our dedicated, passionate staff when they succeed.”

Planned Parenthood received $540.6 million in tax dollars, and performed 327,166 abortions in 2012, down only slightly from its record-setting 333,964 abortions in 2011.
