The media covered up political incompetence and corruption in Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina in order to blame the Bush Administration for racial discrimination and incompetence. They were successful with this effort.
Now we get a glimpse of the truth. The media has cleverly swept the story under the news rug, as with this minor placement in TIME Magazine.
Former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin was sentenced to 10 years in prison July 9 on federal corruption charges, including accepting cash, vacations and other kickbacks from businesses seeking city contracts. The bribes spanned Nagin’s two terms and included the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort.
