Charles Krauthammer told viewers Friday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that recently-revealed emails about the talking points following the 2012 Benghazi consulate attacks show a “direct connection” to the White House.

“It’s a connection, a direct connection between the White House, and Susan Rice, and the fable she told,” Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor, said.

One email in particular, released this week, shows that White House advisor Ben Rhodes was in contact with other officials regarding “goals” for then-U.N. ambassador Susan Rice’s appearance on several Sunday talk shows following the attack, in which she insisted the Benghazi attack was the result of a protest over an Internet video.

The White House previously said that Rice received all of her intelligence about the attack from the CIA, and this week claimed that the email was not about the Benghazi attack, but about region-wide demonstrations over the video.

Krauthammer dismissed the White House’s claim.

“It was all about Benghazi,” Krauthammer said. “And even if some of this protest language applied to other demonstrations, she would never have been on all five shows if it had only been a demonstration in Cairo, where nobody was hurt and nobody was killed. She was on because of Benghazi.”
