Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg attacked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, over his lack of support to federally codify gay marriage.

“If he’s got time to fight against Disney, I don’t know why he wouldn’t have time to help safeguard marriages like mine,” Buttigieg explained to CNN’s Jake Tapper. “Look, this is really, really important to a lot of people. It’s certainly important to me.”

The Democrats’ push to enshrine gay marriage comes after the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court, in which Justice Clarence Thomas issued a concurring opinion, stating that cases such as Obergefell v. Hodges, Griswold v. Connecticut, and Lawrence v. Texas — which deal with same-sex marriage, contraception, and sodomy laws respectively — should all be up for reconsideration.

By striking down Roe v. Wade, The High Court has made Democrats realize they shouldn’t have relied on the Justices to protect certain “rights,” that liberals have always deemed absolutely necessary.

And now, in an effort to distract from the various issues plaguing the country, they’ve decided to expand federal power over matters best left to the states — and to the states alone.
