Media & Dems don’t understand Latinos

This week, MRC Latino broke two prominent stories – one as amusing as it is sad, the other unrelentingly tragic, both led by MRC Latino Director Jorge Bonilla.

Jorge was monitoring Telemundo as it covered Jill Biden’s keynote address to the Latinx IncluXion conference in San Antonio. She clunked along with forgettable babble, then turned to praise the leader whose organization sponsored the conference.

“Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community – as distinct as the bogedas (sic) of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio – is your strength.”

Jorge’s first thought was: What’s a bogeda? (It’s “bodega,” a term for a small grocery store in Hispanic neighborhoods). His second: Did she just compare the largest non-white group in America to breakfast tacos?

So, confident leftist media would not address this, Jorge took to Twitter and posted videos of the First Lady’s remarks. That tweet garnered 3.1 million views, set off a round of media commentary, and drew a rebuke of the First Lady from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Then there was the case of the 10-year-old girl from Ohio who traveled to Indiana for an abortion after she was raped. Sadly, as a Spanish-language court interpreter in Florida for 8 1/2 years, Jorge had seen many such cases.

In a post that drew 633,000 views, Jorge predicted that we would learn the man arrested in the crime likely lived with the girl, was involved with her mother, and provided financial support. When Telemundo followed up on the story, it turned out he was right on all counts.

So it was no wonder the mother said the arrested man had nothing to do with it and that they slipped off to Indiana to abort the baby. Leftist media lionized the abortionist; MRC Latino focused on the needs of the child who was raped and her siblings.

We learned a lot from the stories – how disconnected the Biden White House is from the Hispanic community, how fed up Hispanic journalists are with the administration’s arrogance, and how the media will run roughshod over innocents to push its pro-abortion agenda.
