Payrolls rose by 390,000 in May as jobless rate held steady.

The U.S. economy added jobs at a solid pace last month, continuing the labor market’s long stretch of gains. Beneath the surface, however, the jobs report offered hints the labor market is starting to cool. May job gains were the slowest since April of last year.
