Republicans and Conservatives have been calling out Big Tech for years. They claim social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are dominated by left-wing agendas, and silence right-wing viewpoints.

Recently, President Joe Biden called on social media platforms to flag and even remove posts that might contain vaccine “misinformation.” This kicked off a firestorm of backlash across the country.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) … just wrote a letter to the President, ripping the administration’s collaboration with Facebook, and citing the Constitution.

Here’s part of the letter, as obtained by Fox News:

These revelations are deeply concerning.

The blatant actions by your administration to work with Big Tech companies to censor Americans’ free speech are shocking – and arguably a violation of the First Amendment.

The letter comes on the heels of White House press secretary Jen Psaki saying the administration “regularly” ensures that social media platforms are “aware of the latest narratives.”

She further cited a “danger to public health” as the reason for this collaboration.

But Sen. Blackburn demands more information, and she wants to know what criteria the White House is using to direct social platforms. She also raised a few other important questions:

What is the legal basis for your Administration’s decision to direct social media platforms to flag and remove posts from their sites?

Does the White House have staff dedicated to searching social media for content to flag for removal?

Blackburn wants answers to these questions by August 2.
