This past week Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) indicated that he would vote against S.1, which is better called the “Corrupt Politicians Act.” Instead, he is supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (which is expected to be reintroduced as H.R.4). Conservatives should be clear: the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act is simply a backdoor strategy to accomplish a federal takeover of elections.
