The TPPF Take: We can do better in preparing workers for the good-paying jobs that are out there.
“We can tailor our state’s workforce development efforts more narrowly to the jobs available and the skills needed,” says TPPF’s Vance Ginn. “Texas is generally a prosperous state with many job opportunities, but a portion of the populace lacks the skills necessary to get and keep these jobs. We know what helps. Welfare-to-work programs, with the vital participation of the private sector and civil society, can change lives.”
