No Jennifer, You Are Wrong!

I rarely read Jennifer Rubin in The Washington Post. One reason is that she is so blindly anti-Trump. The other reason is that blind anti-Trump position blinds her from reality and truth. Today’s article, John Kelly is wrong. These were not good people, is a perfect example of her blind rage and the problem with the media and Democrats.
The primary problem with media and Democrats is they think half the country who loves trump need to be cancelled. Thus, the “they are not good people” statement. They are enablers, buffoons, self-serving, criminals, harmful to the republic, and on, and on. The left & the media (Jennifer Rubin included) support BLM, AntiFa and any means, violent or not, to eliminate that 50%. Now Jennifer, is that what a journalist is supposed to do?
Republican’s don’t like the other half of the country either. Those who hate Trump, spread lies about his lies, want Socialism, believe Biden is a centrist and think the 2020 election was ‘the cleanest in history’. But, instead of eliminating them, canceling their free speech, doxing them, rioting in the streets, etc, Conservatives and Republicans just want to have a chance to talk to the other 50%, and maybe change their minds. Give them a chance to see that the other side is not what the media and Democrats say they are, deplorable, white supremacists, but, instead, that ‘they are … good people‘.
Jennifer says of the other half and those who worked directly with Donald Trump, Their reputations have been besmirched for the best of reasons: They participated in an administration unparalleled in its corruption, meanness, racism and authoritarianism. … and enabled arguably the most destructive president in our history …
Jennifer, you are wrong! And the rationale you use to convict these horrible people is also wrong. It is easily shown to be wrong. It has been shown to be wrong. But, you persist. Trump is far from the most destructive president in modern history. His list of 4 year accomplishments is massive!
A case can be made for Obama holding that lofty position of ‘most destructive president in modern history!’ Would you or anyone have written these things about Barack Obama? Of course, not. He is a favorite of your 50%. But, what you would write is that Obama’s administration had no scandals. Unbelievable! But, you guys seem to believe it. By my count Obama’s administration had at least 26 scandals, from Benghazi to Solyndra & Spygate. But, I guess those don’t count. The only people those incidents bothered were that other deplorable 50%.
Interestingly enough, The Washington Post published a similar piece targeting the other 50% titled, All the Republican Rats. No need to go into this article in detail, you get the point.
The reason she doesn’t like the Atlantic article is not that The Atlantic likes Trump, is some right wing media outlet, or treats him fairly in this article. They are a left of center, never-Trumper outfit. But, they do the inexcusable, they allow good things to be said about President Trump and put them in print. No never. This must be countered. And so she does, with her angry brand of ‘opinion’ based on nothing but political narrative.
A couple of quotes The Atlantic includes:
“The vast majority of people who worked in the White House were decent people who were doing the best they could to serve the nation,” John Kelly, the second and longest-serving of Trump’s four White House chiefs of staff, told me. “They’ve unfortunately paid quite a price for that in reputation and future employment. They don’t deserve that. They deserve better than that, because they kept the train from careening off the tracks.”
“I believed then and now I worked for the country,” Ty Cobb, who served as the chief White House lawyer handling the response to Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, told me. “I didn’t really have any difficulty with that. People’s reactions were frequently hostile when they found out what I was doing. How hypocritical is it to think that the Democrats deserve the best people and Republicans don’t? I have served both. It’s the same country.”
After Trump was acquitted in the impeachment trial, the 82-year-old, Alan Dershowitz, who spoke on the president’s behalf, got a letter from someone he knew telling him that the person could “no longer share society with you,” Dershowitz told me.
No, Jennifer doesn’t want to hear any of that. To her this all makes sense. To maintain that rage, you must have someone to hate, a target. And, she and the rest of her journalistic cabal are targeting now, everybody in that other 50%!
Jennifer you are wrong, dangerously, destructively so.
