Giuliani Says Sidney Powell Not Part of Trump’s Legal Team

Nobody yet knows what caused or is the result of Rudy Giuliani’s announcement Sunday that Sidney Powell is no longer a member of the Trump Legal Team. One detail is that he did not say ‘no longer’, he said ‘is not’. Does that little item mean anything? Does it mean she was not an official member of the legal team, but always working on her own? Does it mean that they had to change something in the design of the team for legal reasons after the press conference? Does it mean they are distancing herself so they can both do their work without one’s activities bleeding into the others? Was it the Tucker Carlson episode that the Trump legal team wanted to distance from? Nobody knows yet.

What we do know is that Sidney Powell responded as follows:

I agree with the statement today. I will represent #WeThePeople and seek the Truth. I intend to expose all the fraud and let the chips fall where they may. We will not allow the foundations of this great Republic to be destroyed by abject fraud.

Clearly her activity in the fraud investigation and court cases has not stopped.

President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said Sunday that Sidney Powell, an attorney who made unsupported claims of voter fraud at a press conference at Republican National Committee headquarters last week, isn’t part of the president’s legal team.

Mr. Giuliani said in a statement that Ms. Powell “is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”
