A newly proposed bill in Indiana takes aim at protesters who are convicted of serious crimes during demonstrations.

The proposed bill, “Support Peaceful Protest Act’’ was sponsored by State Representative Jim Banks. It would ban protesters convicted on crimes such as violence, looting or vandalism from federal unemployment assistance.
