Beam or Splinter?
< < Go Back
“Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?” (Matt 7:3)
On this issue of police brutality & race, we need to dialogue vs monologue. Taunting, threatening, denying, rioting, preaching to each other does nothing but set opinions more firmly in place. Both sides know, when you let the emotion subside for a moment, and remove the political & media influences, we can see that we must have honest dialogue and not dispute the other side’s feelings or position on the issues.
Instead, listen …. And, learn.
Remember both sides contribute to the problem and the solution. There are caring people on both sides of the issue that need to be heard.
One has a beam and the other a splinter. Which one is which does not matter.
An honest dialogue will determine that and the joint solution. Nothing else will move this issue forward.
